The Ticket Reimbursement Program reflects the core mission of uplifting the spirits of the Coast Guard family by making cultural and recreational experiences more accessible. Service members and their families stationed at Sector San Juan can explore the rich offerings of the island—from local festivals to community events—without the full financial burden of ticket costs. This program is designed to encourage quality time together, fostering connection and morale within the military community. By covering a portion of eligible ticket expenses, MWR helps ensure that the unique balance of service and island life remains rewarding. Eligible events are determined by current program guidelines, and members are encouraged to check with the office for approved activities and any applicable caps before making plans.
Eligibility for the reimbursement program is open to active duty Coast Guard members assigned to Sector San Juan, along with their families. The program supports participation in approved recreational and cultural events that align with MWR’s goal of promoting wellness, resilience, and community engagement. Whether attending a local performance, exploring Puerto Rico’s natural attractions, or joining a community celebration, service members can seek reimbursement for a portion of ticket costs. The process is straightforward, though members should verify event approval and any per-person or per-family limits in advance. This initiative is one of many ways MWR invests in the well-being of those who serve, ensuring that life in San Juan includes meaningful opportunities for rest and recreation.
Beyond reimbursement, MWR San Juan offers a full spectrum of services designed to support every aspect of Coast Guard life. From child development centers and fitness facilities to the library, pool, and recreational equipment rentals, the organization provides resources that help families thrive. The community center at Gonzalez Hall serves as a hub for programs, gatherings, and information. Staying connected is easy through official updates and social media channels, where upcoming events and program changes are shared. Whether seeking a place to work out, a space for children to learn and play, or a way to explore the island, MWR is committed to serving the Coast Guard family with balance, attention, and care.
